Helpicorn

Draft — last updated October 23, 2026.

Privacy Policy

Helpicorn helps mission-driven organizations with fundraising and communications. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect during early access, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Helpicorn is operated by Brightseid LLC (“Brightseid,” “we,” or “us”). When this policy says “you,” it means the person using Helpicorn, usually on behalf of an organization.

Information we collect

  • Account information. Your email address and the details needed to sign you in. If you try Helpicorn as a guest, we use an anonymous identifier until you create an account.
  • Organization profile. Information you enter about your organization, such as its name, mission, programs, location, contact details, tax status, branding, and fundraising goals.
  • Files you upload. Documents you add to your workspace, such as annual reports, past grant proposals, budgets, or fundraising letters.
  • Content you create. Your requests to Helpicorn, the documents and campaigns it generates, your edits, and the grant and sponsor research you save.
  • Contact records you add. If you import or enter donor or contact lists, the names, email addresses, and other details you provide.
  • Usage and technical information. Records of the tasks you run and the AI usage they consume (used to apply daily limits), basic browser and device information, IP addresses, and error logs. We use this to operate the service, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.

How we use information

  • To provide Helpicorn: running research, generating and storing your documents, and remembering your organization so you don’t have to repeat yourself.
  • To apply daily usage limits, prevent abuse, and keep accounts and workspaces secure.
  • To respond to support requests and reports about incorrect or harmful output.
  • To understand, in aggregate, how the service is used so we can fix problems and make it better.

We do not sell your information. Donor and contact records you add are used only to do work for your organization. We don’t build profiles of individual donors, and we don’t try to infer sensitive characteristics such as anyone’s religious beliefs.

How AI processing works

To complete a request, Helpicorn sends the request and the relevant context, such as parts of your organization profile, excerpts from files you’ve uploaded, and research results, to OpenAI’s API, which generates the response on our behalf under OpenAI’s API terms and data usage policies. When Helpicorn researches grants or sponsors, it also sends search queries to public sources such as Grants.gov and to web search through OpenAI.

Please don’t put highly sensitive personal information into Helpicorn, such as Social Security numbers, health information, bank details, or payment card numbers.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run Helpicorn:

  • Supabase for our database, sign-in, and file storage.
  • Vercel for hosting and for privacy-focused, aggregate website analytics.
  • Google Analytics to understand how people find and use Helpicorn: the pages visited (with record IDs and search details removed from addresses), actions such as starting a request, creating an account, or downloading a document, and general browser, device, and approximate location information. We never send names, email addresses, organization details, request text, or document content, and we turn off Google’s advertising features (Google signals and ad personalization).
  • OpenAI for AI processing, as described above.

If you choose to connect an email account (such as Gmail or Outlook) when that feature becomes available, we will request only the access needed to create drafts you approve, and we will never send email on your behalf without your explicit action.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, including during guest sessions. We don’t use advertising cookies, and we don’t share your information with advertisers.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID) to count visits and understand use in aggregate, and Helpicorn uses a short-lived cookie to pass an analytics event to the next page after you sign up or sign in. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Google Analytics doesn’t run for you. You can also block it with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.

When we share information

We share information only:

  • with the service providers listed above, so they can run Helpicorn for us;
  • when you direct us to, for example when you save a draft to an email account you’ve connected;
  • with people you invite to your organization’s workspace, once team features are available; and
  • when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or Helpicorn.

Your choices

  • You can view and update your organization profile at any time in Settings.
  • You can export your organization’s data, and delete your organization or your account, from Settings.
  • Guest workspaces are tied to your browser. If you clear your browser data before creating an account, the guest workspace can’t be recovered, and inactive guest workspaces may be deleted after a period of time.
  • For anything else, including questions about accessing or correcting your information, contact us through the Support page.

How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account or workspace is active. When you delete content, an organization, or your account, we remove it from our active systems. Copies in backups may remain for a limited time before they are overwritten. We may keep limited usage and security logs for longer where needed to prevent abuse or meet legal obligations.

Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls that keep each organization’s data separate from every other organization’s, and restricted access to production systems. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong, unique password and let us know right away if you suspect a problem.

Children

Helpicorn is intended for adults acting on behalf of organizations. It is not directed to children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

Helpicorn is in early access and this policy may change as the service grows. When we make changes, we will update the date at the top of this page, and we will give more prominent notice of significant changes.
